This is a cast partial upper denture; it serves to replace one or more missing teeth in order to help restore the patients function, esthetics, speech and comfort. The cast metal design is hygienic, more comfortable, lighter and has a tighter fit that an acrylic partial denture (one which has no metal, only pink acrylic with clasps).
This is a picture of the patient wearing the cast partial upper denture pictured above. Notice how well the metal clasps are hidden; can you tell which tooth is the denture tooth in the front?
This patient required all teeth to be removed and did not want to go without teeth for any period of time, so the treatment plan was to fabricate immediate upper and lower complete dentures. This ensured that he never went a day without teeth!

This gentleman had the unfortunate, but not altogether uncommon, occurrence of having the crown (or "cap") fall off of his front tooth. Amidst COVID-19 this can be more easily covered with a mask, but he obviously wanted a longer-term solution!
In this case, where only a single tooth is involved and the remaining teeth are healthy, it is ideal to consider a fixed solution.
